Natascia Diaz is thrilled to be making her debut at the historic Algonquin Hotel. Natascia comes to Glimpses of the Moon following her critical smash run in Washington DC starring as The Spiderwoman/Aurora with Broadway buddies Hunter Foster and Will Chase in what is being heralded as the best production Signature Theater has ever produced, Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Initially training at the School Of American Ballet, she went on to receive her BFA with honors from Carnegie Mellon University. After dancing the role of Anita with the New York City Ballet for their West Side Story Suites, helmed by Jerome Robbins, she performed the role in the National and international touring company of West Side Story. Her critically acclaimed performance as Anita has won her the Chicago's prestigious Joseph Jefferson Award, and a 2006 Kevin Klein Award in St. Louis. Off-Broadway, she originated the role of Vicky opposite Patrick Wilson in Bright Lights, Big City; in the world premiere of Stephen Sondheim's first musical Saturday Night at Second Stage, and as Susan opposite New Kid Joey McIntyre in Jonathan Larson's Tick, Tick…Boom!, Her performance as Susan subsequently won her a 2005 LA Ovation Award Nomination in the LA premiere of TTB at the Rubicon Theatre. Favorite regional credits include Catherine in Pippin (Papermill Playhouse), Petra in A Little Night Music, Rosalie in Carnival! (Kennedy Center), and Elektra in Agamemnon and his Daughters (Arena Stage). Ms. Diaz last performed on Broadway in the 2004 revival of Man of La Mancha as Antonia, covering Mary Elizabeth Mastroantonio in the role of Aldonza, performing the role opposite Broadway giant, Brian Stokes Mitchell. In 2006, she starred in the Off-Broadway hit revival of Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris.
